Prayers coming from NC!
We got a call today from my son. Our 30 year dil had, what they thought was a stroke. They now think it may be Bell's Palsy. At this point the side of her face is paralyzed and she cannot form words. They are doing a series of tests to find out exactly what it is.

Wag, if it is Bell's Palsy, not to worry. My best friend in the world had that as a teenager and yep, one side of her face was paralyzed for a time (seems like it was a few weeks, but I don't quite remember) but then it just kind of went away and she was fine with no other effects at all. I will be sending out prayers that the outcome with your DIL will be just as good and that all will be fine.

Oh dear, wig-wag.....but, you know, it does sound a lot like Bell's Palsy, which is almost always completely recoverable...I'm sending positive thoughts for you all.

Thoughts and prayers for you and your family. The waiting is sometimes the most challenging part of the recovery. I hope and pray that it is Bell's Palsy which has afflicted many people I know, including my minister--recovery seems fairly low stress for this.

I hope all proves well for your DIL.

Prayers from here too! Hope it's Bell's Palsy and recovery is quick and complete.

My dil was sent home after it was determined it wasn't a
stroke. She went into convulsions last night. The poor
little one was hysterical seeing his mommy like that.
Fortunately my son was home and rushed her to the hospital.
To make a long story short, the drugs she was given after her
gall bladder surgery counter reacted against a drug she was
taking befre the surgery. She was admitted to the hospital.
At this point we do not know the extent of the damage which
has taken place and whether it is permanent or not.

Oh dear. I'm saying many, many prayers for your family.
