Preschooler banned for unique hairstyle

http://www.parentdish.com/2008/04/07/pr ... y-haircut/

The poor little guy will be traumatized for life for a haircut he didn't even choose that wasn't the slightest bit offensive.

Ridiculous

That is just ridiculous that he was sent home. If they were really upset about the hair cut they could have called the mother in and told them without the kid knowing. The poor child doesn't understand what happened. He shouldn't miss out on his education waiting for his hair to grow back. Some people get waay to carried away on meaningless problems...

That is RIDICULOUS!
Mind you, maybe I am more used to it in NZ, with traditional Maori designs being put into hair. These styles are remniscient of the moko which tells the history and whakapapa (genealogy) of the wearer. Most teens wouldn't have a moko... instead their moko (per se) is in thier hair.
What a stupid school. Sometimes you wonder what on earth they waste their time on these kinds of things!

Amazing, the inconsequential trivia that too often takes the place of real, actual, issues. 8O

Looks like it's time to find a new preschool. If they're going to get that ticked over a creative buzz cut, I can only imagine the other harmless things they'd flip out about.

I agree with appleaday. Time to find a new preschool. I keep waiting for a preschooler to show up with a tatoo. That's indicative in today's society. The people that ban this child should walk down the halls of a 21st century high school. It's scary.

Poor little guy! I just couldn't imagine how he felt about the whole thing. I also worry about the possible long-term emotional effect of what had happened to the kid. The school didn't have to send him home. There were other ways to deal with it.

He did not pick the haircut and he was punished for it. Sick! What is this world coming to. I can see some kids getting in trouble for the clothing they wear but not a young child for a haircut.
