Schoolnotes.com

Are you all aware of this site? I just learned about it this year. I can post my homework on the intenet every day. It is easy to use and the parents who have computers appreciate being able to check and verify what their child claims to have (or not have) for homework. Just another tool....FYI.

I loved it when I had it - so much I paid for the subscription so I could do "fancier things" with it.

BUT!!!!! They did not tell me that the subscription one was not mac compatible. I could only change assignments at home (we're a Mac school) on my PC. This did not always work, because I would get busy, etc. They assured me that it would be mac compatible very shortly. this summer they stopped responding to my e-mails and phone calls, so I did not renew it.

But I agree with Barb in that it is very easy to use. And the free site is mac compatible.

    Oh nuts...

That reminds me, I'd better get today's assignments posted! I use schoolnotes every day (unless I forget, like I did today). Parents LOVE it! The kids aren't thrilled when parents know what the assignments are, though. Oh well, you can't please everybody! Karen

We created a page on our school website that the core teachers in grades 7-8 of the Middle School post on daily. We use a few minutes of our team meeting time for the final update. Parents and students both make use of it. It has also helped me catch parents who claim they use the site, yet they don't know about major projects and due dates. Many of us also download our project info so there can always be a copy at home. It is great!

Wig, what is included in "free site"? I remember I looked at their homepage site few years ago and there was I think one-month free trial and after that you pay. I would love to have a site like Billybob does (once I get a class for longer than few weeks) but the paying part makes me go hmmm (I don't know how I pay from here, and we here actually have much smaller absolute amount of money).

We have our own page on the school site now, so that is another reason I don't use it any longer. But, It is pretty basic. It allows you to choose the background and the color font. If you know some html you can do a little more. It is VERY easy to use. I used the free version for several years before getting the enhanced version.

Just go to http://www.schoolnotes.com and try it.
