Wow, dogs are incredible. I've heard a few stories about this type of thing happening, I find it so interesting.
Say, does any one else have any storied similar?
And prayers for your mum, Ima.

Dad was telling me that my dog pulled a "Lassie" move today. This afternoon when my mom was putting the garbage cans from the curb to the garage, she had a seizure. She hadn't noticed that Dad had left the door from the back yard to the garage open, so my dog had gotten outside the fence. Instead of roaming around sniffing like he usually does when he gets out, he sat right by Mom and waited for her to get up. Once she came around, she let him back in the yard. Dad was mowing in the yard, and the dog usually stays away when he's doing that. This time, he came up to Dad, looked at him, and then looked back at the house. When Dad wouldn't come, he did it again until Dad finally decided to check on Mom. That's when he found out she'd had a seizure.
Every time she's ever been outside and had a seizure, the dog is sitting beside her when she wakes up. She says that sometimes he licks her, too.
Poor Mom. . . she's had two seizures in the last week, so she's all bruised and banged up. She'll have a pretty good black eye tomorrow, I believe. I told her that it looks like she and dad have been fighting.

Thank you! Mom was sporting a nice black eye at church today. She said that most people acted like they didn't notice it, but a few people did ask about it.Originally Posted by sushi
She goes for really long periods without any seizures, and then she'll have two or three in a row. She's been having seizure activity since around 1989 or so. All the tests pointed to epilepsy, but two years ago in July, they found a small (pea sized) brain tumor which seems to be where the seizures originate. They said it was better to leave it alone. She missed getting to drive, and she gets bruised a lot. Overall, she seems fine. When she was first diagnosed, she was afraid to stay by herself. Now she doesn't mind it a bit. In fact, when DH and I take our vacation in two weeks, my dad will be on a fishing trip, too. We'll both call and check on her from time to time, though. She'll only be by herself for three days.

I've heard of this happening. Some dogs can actually sense seizures in people. I think it's fascinating.
I did a google search and found this :
