This is probably too late, since it is evening now.

I'd bet your kids go to Northside schools. I teach in Northside. I was there until about 6:20 this evening trying to get my room ready for Monday. It doesn't look promising thus far.

Our open house isn't until after school starts, so I've never gotten one of these gifts. Since you don't know what she/he might need, I could only suggest some sort of cutesy trinket.
I've heard that four out of every three people have trouble with fractions.

How about something the teacher can use everyday like some fun pencils or pens?

My son's 3rd grade teacher seemed really cool, she made me laugh alot... and his old 2nd grade teacher offered her help or advice in any of my classes which I thought was really nice of her.. She also was a mid life career changer..LOL.....

I guess I could change my name to Scientific Mary, but it doesn't have the nice alliterative effect .

There's a Roy/SATX who posts sometimes - he's a math guy too - a PhD type in research or industry, really interesting guy. I haven't seen him around here much lately though.

whoopsies! That's spelled with an "m", isn't it.

Yesterday was a doozie for me. Pardon my lack of spelling abilities.

I think he was either saying I am full of gas, or that I'm an airhead. Good thing I'm a good sport....
