Spring is in the air. . .

    The weather's warming up. . .

The trees and flowers are growing. . .

The days are getting longer. . .

The school calendar is jam packed. . .

Hormones and tempers are flaring. . .

    MUST BE SPRING!!!

I think we take our spring break too late in the year. We don't have our break until the first week of April. We really should have had it this week because the everyone's nerves are on edge.

Yesterday we had three fights. Today we had four. Apparently the 7th grade girls all came in with their claws out this morning because most of the fights have been girl fights. The boys tend to have isolated incidents, but all the girl fights are somehow related. I hate girl fights. . . too much clawing and hair pulling. I'll break up boys anyday. Usually we can break them up before they actually get into it. (The science teacher calls it their "rooster dance" because they circle each other and pick awhile before actually hitting. Rural school--hence the farm references.)

Fortunately, I've missed all the excitement. I was at a meeting in Louisville today--125 miles each way. The poor assistant principal was holding down the fort by himself today because the principal and other assistant were at the meeting today, too. There were seven of us who went to the meeting today. We got to take the superintendent's new Suburban. . . which still has the new car smell. One of the high school teachers had already booked both district vans, so the superintendent let us use his Suburban. We didn't put any scratches on it and only one person gave us the finger, so I think we drove well.

Fortunately I had a good sub today, so tomorrow I can pick up right where I had planned on being.

In the spirit of spring, and to be perfectly honest, in the spirit of "I was messing with my camera yesterday, trying to learn all I could so I would be ready to take pictures on our spring break trip", here are a few spring flower pictures from my yard. Happy spring!

These remind me of Paulie's beautiful pictures

Sigh. Big Sigh. I miss her gorgeous pictures. That is the closest to spring as I am getting.[/quote]
