    Storms strike again

We had a doozy of a storm last night! The lightning was close, and I kept listening for the fire sirens to race by our house. Loud and close, both night and day, as the torrential rain comes down.

So I am awake for about half then night on a Magic Fingers mattress without depositing any quarters. My little 20-pounder turns from devil into shrinking violet. At least a shaking violet. He spent half the night shaking his little docked-tailed patootie and panting his throat dry. So we miss out on our valuable sleep, and what does he do? He wakes me up early as his throat is so dry with all of his panting, and he needs his water in the kitchen. Then breakfast will be served.

Putting water in the bathroom is a consideration, but he is getting old and his bladder is notlike it used to be, rather like mine. I restrict it throught the night.

The other night with the thunder, he parked himself between Mr. Bananas and myself in the living room. We, the amused, see how Mr. Bananas misses having the children around. He was comforting the dog and talking to him more during that bout. :-)

he he hee... Our big dog is like that. Kaleb is a HUGE belgian shepherd, big black hairy thing he is... He looks scary and keeps the burglars away, but he's the biggest sook in storms!! He shakes all over, uncontrollably, crazily! He pants and dribbles so much that there huge pools of water on the floor. He's an outside dog, but we have to bring him in in storms. If we are out and a storm hits, we come home to a very frightened dog and scratches and mud all over our doors. He's terrible. We've tried to train him out of it but he's just getting worse and worse in his old age.

Lucy was terrified of storms. Trixie doesn't seem to be bothered too much, but she will bark back at loud booms.

WOW, I feel lucky all three of my goof-balls could care less if there is a storm coming. As a matter of fact one of hte last storms we had I took them out right before the rain came, or so I thought. They thought the rain was great and could have caredless about the thunder and lightening. I had all I could do to get them to come back into the house.
