    Too stressed!

Last week we had a week off and I worked hard trying to get a little caught up. Feel good about what I got accomplished, but am still overwhelmed. I haven't even had a chance to visit this board again until today!

I have nearly three more weeks of pure stress and being buried under---hope I can survive it sanely. Still have assessment to do, report cards to finish by the 16th, a project I'm committed to finishing by the 19th for an auction that I still have about 10 hours of work to do one, three national board papers to read and comment on (I'm not going to do this next year!), in-service classes to teach this Thursday and Saturday, and my father-in-law's 80th birthday is at my house on the 20th.

I just keep saying, "I'll get through it. I'll get it done. I can do it." to myself. I hate to take a day off school because I've missed at least one day every week except one since Jan. 3 because of meetings or classes. I feel guilty about being out more and I'm already out tomorrow and one day next week.

Sorry about the vent, but just needed to vent my stress somewhere. Why do we teachers always seem to get sooooooooo busy?

    Hi Linda,

Yuck, your schedule is a lot for anyone. Too much. I would try and reschedule some of the workshops if possible. Also can you awake maybe an hour early for a few days a week and get some of the writing stuff done? Being out once a week must be really time consuming with leaving lesson plans and stuff.

For the old man's birthday make is simple for your family and take him to an Outback for lunch and pick up the bill. For a gift, you could get him some books on tape or put some pics of your family in a nice frame. I like the frames at the Mikasa Outlet.

Try to take it easier from now on. Oh and hope for a snow day.
