    Union Contracts

Can anyone tell me what the average size in terms of pages a "typical" teacher's union contract is on the local level? While I believe teachers need to be protected (I'm in the union at the prison), our local school district - several years ago sold out to the teacher's union a few years ago - so bad that no administrator can really lead. Long, ugly story which continues to this day.

Anyhow, what would be the average length in pages?

    Thanks,

That's all?!?!?!?! The one in our local school district is ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY SEVEN PAGES! It must address when and when they can't pee!

    That's all

Our district, while firmly believing in complying with entities, covering our little tushes, and being prepared in this day's world, does not feel the need to eliminate the forest in doing so. Let's do our job, but not go overboard.

    Gee, I love my district!

With no teacher's union, our contracts are one (1) page. And if I remember correctly, they are not a full page....

Our's is 57 pages 10 or so of which are just tables and charts for salary and stipends. We are a Union State.

Thanks for your imput. That's what I was thinking (yours would be a hell of a lot lower). That's just nuts - 137 pages! But like I said, the district sold out, and may never recover. That's what happens when you have a Yuppie school board in bed with administration and union leaders. A long, long and ugly story which I just don't feel like getting into right now.

On the other hand, when this contract is up, it should be entertaining! We have a completely new board who's into penny pinching (and oddly enough catching hell for it). Should be a good show!
