You got it.
While I don't post much, I read this site nearly everyday. I've shed a few tears here, but didn't post since it might seem like 'jumping in' to friends. My parents moved in with me 8 years ago, after my mom broke her hip while visiting from FL. Well my mom died 2 years ago, my dad I inheirited.
He's 86 and has been fortunate to have a very wide circle of friends, (they live in this area before their move to FL). Last weekend he went on a 'retreat' with 65 of his 'close' friends to Notre Dame. Seems he felt ill while there and stayed in the hotel room most of the time. He returned Sunday morning, and took it easy. Around 6 pm he said that he thought he better go to hospital. He had pneumonia. Yesterday a C-T scan showed something else on the x-ray. It may be cancer. Today he had a brachioscope(sp?). Results due Friday. For my fellow believers, could you add a prayer?

You got it.
Will do!

Goodness, sure will.
No problem!
I've got a sick dad right now, too.

Mine too.
Thank you all. Well as feared, the news was not good. It is cancer and that is never good news. For bad news though, there was a 'better side', while it's a very fast growing cancer, it is also the most responsive lung cancer to treatment of radiation and chemo. Now if his overall health can take the medicine, we have some hope. Thanks again!

Thanks for the update, k-doh 2000, your dad has been in my thoughts. I'm sorry to hear the news of his cancer and I hope you and he are bearing up as well as you can. I hope the medication works as well as it should.
If you can't be kind, at least be vague.
Thank you Green Bunny. Well as seems to be the case with cancer, we'll know more tomorrow or Monday. After the meeting with oncologist, radiologist, kidney specialist, pulmonary specialist, the concensus was to 'be guarded.' His kidney damage makes him unlikely to handle chemo. They did a bone scan and if it hasn't spread, they may try it. The oncologist though, explained to him they can't use so many of the meds, that he may be getting very sick for no good reason.
Both of my parents had decided on 'no extraordinary means' a long time ago, my dad honored my mom's wishes, I think he's heading towards the same decision, regardless of the scan. I just hope that he has a while of 'good times' left.
It's been a tough week, but the 5 grandkids that are 'here' were visiting with him, saying, "Grandpa, I remember when you did this or came to that or took me with you to...." I know that made him feel great.

Oh my. I'll keep all of you in my prayers.
