    Weather at a Glance

What is the weather like where you are?

In Winston Salem, it is absolutely beautiful. The sun is shining and the temps are supposed to be in the 70s all week long!

We had a beautiful week, too, - upper 60's/low 70's. I don't think I have ever gone this long with not turning on the heat. But a cold front has moved in with high winds and some rain early this morning. I had to close the window in the bedroom. However, the fall colors were gorgeous. The picture below, although not mine, was taken near my house. We hit our peak this week and now it is literally all "down hill" from here. I think Fall is my favorite time of the year.

It's been in the 70's and very pretty here for the past week. The tree's are starting their fashion shows. This week looks like we are headed to the 80's which will mean sinus infections for most of the school.

    weather at a glance

It had been a beautiful week until yesterday. It turned cold, windy and rainy. Something failed on my roof because it began to rain in the family room last night. However, my heat is set at 62 and has only run a couple of times at night when it's gotten down into the 30's. It's supposed to warm up into the 60's again tomorrow. Amazing for Northern Illinois!

Here on the coast of BC, Canada, it's probably going to rain. The temperature is a nippy 7 degrees C (about 45 degrees F). The leaves are falling; they've stopped being really pretty and are just wilted looking. We have a Japanese Maple that had stunningly beautiful red leaves until about a week ago; we have a Golden Beech that has lovely golden leaves that shimmer in the late sunlight (should we get sunlight in November--very rare). The leaves will all have fallen in the next couple of weeks and we'll continue with rain rain rain. sigh

If you can't be kind, at least be vague.

We had a yuck front move in. It is overcast and showery. Last week it was sunny and blue.

Mind you - I DO live in Auckland so we get all four seasons in one day :-)

Except for an odd cold front that came through about a week and a half ago, we're still having sunny weather with high's in the low to mid 80's. 8)

One thing you can be sure about when it come to Georgia and the weather is... it's always changing! In mid-October, we were having record highs in the 80's, then a week later were having record (low) highs in the 50's, and now we're back up to the 80's again. No wonder so many people are getting sick!
