    We're back from our trip.

We made it back from our trip a few hours ago. We had a good time, but I'm glad to be home. I just wanted FAR AWAY FROM SCHOOL for a few days . . . and far away from people, too.

The first day we toured Cumberland Gap, which included about 8 miles of hiking and caving. DH is a big Daniel Boone buff, so he enjoyed the whole "Wilderness Road" thing.

That's DH in the back of the group . . . me with my short legs trying to keep up and take photos at the same time. Yes, DH is hiking in COWBOY BOOTS.

And here I am with the sign. They took out the highway and restored the original Wilderness Road.

Anytime we travel, I have to go to a zoo or aquarium. This was at the Knoxville Zoo. The camels were very friendly . . . until DH tried to get a photo.

And this one would be what DH and I looked like after getting up at 5:15, driving for 3 hours, and hiking & caving all day . . . in the nice 80+ degree temps. (It was COLD the other two days.)

Here are some other random photos.

    Bed & Breakfast

    View from our room . . .

View of the town from the hiking trail . . .

    A couple from the cave . . .

And some from the hiking . . .

After we got "back to nature" for a couple of days, we decided to be "touristy" and drive to Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg to shop, and then we hit the stores in Knoxville today before coming home.

Whew . . . I need a week to recover from my vacation.

My new computer and I are going to have it out yet. My old computer used to give me the handy automatic sizing of photos . . . but this "new & improved" one with Windows Vista doesn't like to make things that easy.

Yeah . . . "compact photo". Doesn't look "compact" to me.

Ah, well, at least you get all the detail.

I had to stare at the bat a little bit.....to figure out it was a bat. Looks like a great trip though.

What great photos to share, IMA. It is great to be able to see them all in one post. Sounds like you had a great time and got some exercise.

I bet my hubby has a coonskin cap tucked away somewhere.

It's Gap Cave in Cumberland Gap. It used to be called Cudjoe's cave when it was commercial. When it became part of the national park they took out all the artificial lighting and other "modern stuff" and changed the name.

Nope, that's my summer do. I'm hot natured, so I decided that when the warm weather arrived I'd buy some "summer" hair. DH likes it better than the longer hair. I like the looks of both, but I've had short hair more than I've had long hair so it seems more natural to me.

If you want to know what my real hair looks like, scroll back up to the photo of DH walking the trail. My natural hair looks like that, only black instead of light brown. 8O
