    7. Text messaging the answers to the test to a friend (which is totally absurd since the person sending the answers doesn't know how to do it either).

    8. Talking on the phone during dinner (in our house, if you call during dinner, you'll get the answering machine).

    9. Cell phones ringing in the middle of class, kid doesn't want to let on that it's theirs, so they pretend nothing's happening, then the inevitable chime after the rings to let them know they have a message interrupts class again!!!!

    10. My own child (12 years old) keeps asking if he can get a cell phone and presents no valid arguments for needing one. (I don't have a cell phone, but he thinks he needs one!)

    .....next.....
I've heard that four out of every three people have trouble with fractions.

When going to pick someone up and your in their driveway waiting you just call them to come out instead of ringing their doorbell or honking.

When at the mall and you get seperated you just call the other person to tell them where you are and how to meet. Also works in big stores like Wally World.

Because I travel around our entire campus if I'm needed the secretary just phones my cellphone.

You go to a concert and want to see where your friends are seated. You phone them where they can tell you and then you give each other a wave.

You text message your son off at college "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" on their big day.

You're driving and see something wrong like drunk driver etc., just phone the police. If your lost you call someone that knows the directions instead of risking your life and going into some store asking for directions.

    cell phones

You can ring Mr. Bananas when you see him coming to the track meet or baseball game to tell him to look for son at an event or at bat right in time to see him bat his home run.

You call Rev. Bananas and tell him a church member is in X hospital as he is on his way home from Y hospital to save both time and gas money in having to turn around. More family time together.

Mr. Bananas can call home when he is picking up a few groceries and he forgets the list. (We know how to write, Tom, but forgetfulness is prevalent.)

Children rarely have an excuse when being late. They keep in touch and get permission. Same for adults.

We know where our children are and who they are with.

We know how to put our phones on vibrate or how to turn them off when appropriate.

You can call a tow truck when your car breaks down in the middle of nowhere on s Sunday afternoon.

Your mother feels more comfortable going out for a few hours, knowing your handicapped father can reach her in case of an emergency.

You can call the people you're visiting for the weekend, to let them know you're stuck behind a major wreck and will be late, but that you're okay.

I hate cellphones in class!!! I now start most every class with the comment: turn off your cellphones. Also I kick students out of class if their phone disturbs the lesson...

And, although I have a terrible memory for numbers, I used to be able to learn phonenumbers - now I don't even know my boyfriends...if my cell disappears I won't be able to tell anyone 8O

I know this is a terrible thing to do but since we don't have outgoing phone lines in our class rooms I sometimes resort to it. If I have a student who is being extremely disruptful or got into a fight, I sometimes use my cell phone to call their parents right then and there. I also do this if I have back to back classes and can't take them to the office to call their parents after the class is over.

In my case, that is: "They do not have fruit nectar of trade mark x. Should I buy w, y or z?" and "how much is item x in our nearest shop? It costs xyz here"

We didn't have to talk to people we didn't want to right away. I know that sounds harsh, but nowdays when someone calls your cell phone, they also leave a message, and their number shows up as a missed call. It's kind of hard to ignore that whereas if you have a phone with no call waiting and no answering machine (and they don't know if you have caller ID or not) they can't say "well I called your cell phone."
