What is your HIGH and LOW for the week?

High: I am almost finished reading my 6th chapter in my research textbook. Also got in a nice little nap. Halfway through with ISAT testing.

Low: One more week of ISAT testing to go. Still have five more chapters to read. Need to rewrite my paper. Need to write my intro. Need to read nine articles for paper.

High: Met the Academic Decathlon team on Thursday during my lunch period. They are eager to have me as their coach next year, and I am equally eager to take on the class. Other high..... Spring Break is FINALLY here. I am so in need of a little time off.

Low: Today was the last day of the quarter and I had a myriad of students trying to turn in late work, some of which was OVER A MONTH OLD!!!!!!! I get sooooooo frustrated at the end of a marking period when suddenly they start caring about their grades.
I've heard that four out of every three people have trouble with fractions.

High: Grades are done, on my computer and out in cyberspace somewhere. Plus, son #2's girlfriend just finished her clinical in physical therapy and was offered a JOB at the place for over $45000 a year!

Low: I hate ISAT testing. At least we're done until next year! Karen

HIGH: *Sort of* hearing from my friend -- the seriously ill college friend I e-mail and vacation with, whom I hadn't heard from in almost four weeks and couldn't find anything out about -- well, Friday after school, when I checked my e-mail, I saw that she had picked up the e-card I'd sent a couple of weeks ago, and she had forwarded a couple of jokes. I guess she's not quite up to sending out a long explanation of what's been going on, but at least she's checking her e-mail and reading jokes.

LOW: An encounter I had with someone very close to me.

Low: I had to go and take my documents from both schools that did not take me. It is miserably cold and icy here.

High: Some money went to my account. I have started my lobbying to be included in sub lists in as many schools as possible (so far 12 schools have me on their lists so we'll see). I did not fall on ice.

High: One of my students from several years ago came to see me yesterday. I had him in homeroom for his 10th, 11th, and 12th grade years and he also took my AP Stat class his senior year. He came to tell me that even though it sometimes seems like the kids aren't listening to me, that my class made a difference. He is majoring in Pre-Med and has set the curve on every assessment in his Research methods class. He wanted me to know that what I teach is important. We visited for over an hour about his current courses and his HS friends. During his senior year, we lost one of his best friends in a car accident and we spoke about how difficult it is to deal with the death of someone you love. It just amazed me to hear him talk with such maturity and depth.

Low: It's not spring break yet... 4 more days LOL

LOW: I slipped up and called a former student (now a 7th grader) a "brat" when she walked by me in the hallway and didn't even acknowledge me. NOT a professional or even an adult response to the situation. It was just a rough day all around and I guess I just took it out on that poor kid.

HIGH: I think my zoloft is starting to work. That incident I mentioned above is the ONLY one like it in a long time.
