What are your HIGHS and LOWs for the week?

High: Daughter is on a different medication, and this is off to a much better start. It is good to have her focusing on her studies again and finishing up her college career. I pick her up after school and she will be home for the weekend.

Low: Attended another IEP meeting yesterday; the second part as it was a continuation. Time in meetings was about 5 1/4 hours, and the parent had four pages of modifications provided to everyone there. She commented that my goals were actually pretty good, so I could breath a little bit.

High: Trixie is doing very well at doggie school. Positive parent conferences. Enjoyable field trip.

Lows: Parent encouraging child not to complete an assignment

    Highs:
Making it through the last full week of the school year
Also, a couple of other things that involve other people
People (including a student at our school) making very nice comments about my weight loss (a little over 33 pounds so far, since January 10)

    Lows:
The amount of time I'm going to have to spend working this weekend to get caught up with grades and stuff
The car conking out -- it just needed a new fuel pump, but it was kind of a bummer to go two days without a car

So it looks like I've had a pretty good week

I just love your smileys and frowns for your highs and lows! Why didn't I think of that? It's a great idea.

    Low
-the staff at my school became visibly divided over a silly issue. Apparently, there are people at the school who have not spoken to each other in over 2 years. How old are they? 11? Geez!

    Medium
-we had a staff social in my part of the building that was fun. The players from above did not deign to join us but the rest of us stayed to drink wine and eat too much food until about 6:00.

    High
-my morning class had the pizza party that they won for raising the most money in the Spellathon (my 15 kids raised over $600!).
-I gave a talk to new K parents at the Kindergarten Tea and I didn't break out in a cold sweat. As soon as I got talking properly, my voice stopped shaking and I was fine.

    High -- 8th grade chapel

Low -- I'm still struggling with maybe picking up a new subject next year.

I'm hoping next weeks high will be word that I've been accepted into the grad program to which I applied.

Pffffft-- of course you will be....

High-um.....ok-- I got one-- I took my kids to the "Fairy Tale Family Dance" Dressed as a Princess, Robin Hood, and yours truly as a Poison Apple...

Low--Youngest threw up at 5:00 this morning, forcing me to cancel my girls-only trip over the Vancouver to help my best Girlfriend celebrate her 40th birthday..... He seems ok now, but the reality is if I went, the husband would be misery on earth for a week after because I went when Robin Hood was sick.... I'll put up with the vomiting rather than the pouting. I hate that.

    Highs?
    - Completing my first full week of school in what... 2 years?
    - Planning an awesome surprise party for my adopted Opa.
    - Taking the kids for Sunday school this week
    - Having some people around my area join church this week
    - meeting with one of my friend's from hospital today
    - Applying for work experiences at a local Kid's Club, and being accepted. I start Friday 27th of this month.

    Lows?
-Coming down with school sores, or impetigo. So itchy!
-On atibiotics and steroid cream for a ringworm that won't clear up (I'm a walking fungal and bacterial infection this week!)
-Putting up with rowdy kids I took for Sunday school. They were so naughty! I had to be quite firm and even had to whistle to get their attention. whew, it was exhausting!
    - Nearly breaking my foot last night, running in platform shoes. pfft, it was an insane thing to do, I sprained my foot, but we were so worried it was broken for a while, I couldn't put any weight on it, or even put it flat. It's been a full on crazy week. I am so tired!

    MY high :
Finally I got the opportunity to spend a night at our summerhouse !
(Some thirty min. by boat from my home.)
All alone - not a sound - not a light xcept from starlight and the moonshine. I need silence to recharge !

    My low ?
Having to tell the kids that I won't be their techer next year.
( goodbyes are always sad )

High: Went in to school for the first time in nearly 3 weeks. We had teachers' institute, so I went in for the team meeting with 7th grade team/8th grade team for class scheduling. Then we had lunch provided by the PTO - YUM!! While everybody else was working on curriculum, since I wasn't officially "working", I entered grades on the computer.

Low: I entered 2 1/2 weeks of grades on the computer. BUT, on my desk was another 3 days worth of papers. Hmmmm, I think some of them are going to be completion grades! Karen
