Where is David of Houston - today ?????

David of Houston is a trendsetter - and of course it would be great to see him back on the forum again.
Since this is not very likely ,I hope that someone can tell me -how he is and what he is doing today.

    In the meantime
quote]I've been thinking about this comment for several days. In some respects I found it quite hurtful - but you do make an interesting point. I am no longer a teacher and even though I have lots of teaching experience that I could still share - the fact of the matter is that I'm no longer a teacher.
    So I'm leaving T.Focus.
Lucy will have to find another moderator.
    I quit!
    Goodbye all!
(David of Houston waved a loaf of French bread at the computer monitor prior to going off line and returning to his study of hospitality supervision).
    Regards to all,
    David[/quote]

    That was apr. 9th 2003.

Somethimes I miss his smirky remarks and his ability to write ,without thinking : IS THIS SOUNDING JUST PLAIN STUPID ?
I have been approached - off-list - several times by members who have a message\problem - and think it is too "local" to put this to the entire list.
NO MESSAGE IS TOO TRIVIAL . Remember if there is a problem that YOU encounter - its very likely that many others have had the same problem.

David is probably not coming back - but the rest of you should be able to fill his footprints !
(For newcomers: at the indexpage - click the first moderator ( and read some of his messages. I did not always agree - but that's not the point here.)

I have thought of David frequently, and just recently, wondering how culinary school went for him. He left the teaching profession out of frustration with the direction public ed in our country was going. He was right about the direction; it's worse now than when he left.

I keep hoping he'll pop in one day to say hi, and to update us on how he is doing. And I hope he is doing well.

    Here's something I remember:

He was very good about communicating basic information to beginning teachers, and very supportive of them.

And he loved to tease with descriptions of the delicious menus he was learning to create in culinary school.

    David's whereabouts :)

David now owns a Bed and Breakfast in Pennsylvania called The Inn at Elizabethville.

    Yippi !

Thanks to Leslie - I have re-established contact with David. He has found his dream and it sounds as if he really is having a good time.
Based on several e-mails I think I can say that the ideas he had some years ago which fostered a dream - have come through.
    GOOD FOR HIM
And a living proof that great things happen if you really go for it !
    Merry christmas,friends

I am so glad to hear this.

If I am ever in Pennsylvania, I'll look up the bed and breakfast. Interestingly, I had a student move to Pennsylvania last month!
