Where were they when I needed them?

Look at what I saw out my front door yesterday afternoon. . .

Gee, where were they when I was digging all those holes for my trees?

The enthusiastic digger in the middle is the new puppy that's now being ignored by the neighbors just like their black dog.

They knew they were in trouble when I appeared outside. They went slinking off in three different directions.

My dog helped me do some digging earlier this spring -- he saw where I was digging and joined right in.

    Nice picture

I used to tell Zacchaeus when he was a wee little pup that he was possibly digging his own grave. 8O Then I took an empty gallon milk jug that I had washed out and put the lid back on. He batted that jug back and forth with his paws, took the handle in his mouth and shook that thing back and forth while growling up a storm. He then had to lie down and hold it with his paw to chew on it until he could get the lid off. They, along with empty pop bottles, make wonderful toys to play with; especially when the phone rings or the dialogue on the TV program you have waited all day is at the climax. Funny how they know that they are doing something wrong!

I'll never forget years ago at our old house... I had planted azeleas on the hillside to try to stop the rain from flying down the hill. I had planted about 20 of them. The next morning I let one of our doxies out to do her business. A hour later I look out and there on the porch are the 20 azeleas I had planted. Hmmmmmmmmm, mommy wasn't happy!

hhmmm, CJ typically slinks off when he's done something naughty too! He's all wet kisses and wagging tail until you walk out in the backyard, see what he's done, come back in the house, and say his name with a different tone of voice. Then he slinks off to his bed and looks all sad...

He hasn't done anything naughty in about a year though. Last time he did anything was right after we moved in to our new house last spring. We left him to go to a funeral and when we came home we no longer had screens on 5 of the 7 windows on the back of the house! ACK!
